Call for Applications: Austrian BMBWF Scholarships for Academic Year 2026/27
📢 We are pleased to announce scholarship opportunities for foreign students, graduates, and scientists for the academic year 2026/27, as offered by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF).
These scholarships are an excellent opportunity for academic exchange and research in Austria.

The following programs may be of particular interest to our students and staff:

| Franz Werfel Scholarship | Persons with above-average qualifications, preferably with teaching experience and employment at a university, who focus on Austrian literature. | 4 to 9 months. An extension of up to 18 months is possible. | Follow-up support is available for persons who consumed at least 12 scholarship months. Target countries: worldwide. |
| Ernst Mach Grant-worldwide | PhD students, postgraduates, postdocs, and young lecturers from universities outside of Austria. Students and academic teaching staff from all fields of study can apply. | 1 to 9 months. Extensions are not possible. | Target countries: worldwide. |
| Ernst Mach Grant for Studying at an Austrian university of applied sciences | Undergraduate and graduate students (Bachelor or Master level) from non-European countries (and Ukraine). | 4 to 10 months. Extensions are not possible. | Allows research visits at an Austrian university of applied sciences. |
| Ernst Mach Scholarship ASEA UNINET | Graduates in the field of music, postgraduates with a master’s degree, and postdocs with a doctoral degree (or equivalent). | Up to 9 months to up to 36 months, depending on the grant type. | Currently accepting applications from ASEA-UNINET member universities in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. Target countries include: Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. |
