ISSC Empowers Students through 21st Century Skills Workshops

The International Student Services Center (ISSC) organized a series of workshops under the 21st Century Skills Program, part of the Soft Skill Enhancement Project aimed at strengthening students’ global competencies and professional readiness. The activities were held on 2–3 July 2025 at the VIP Reception Room 1, Office of the University 1, Chiang Mai University.
The program was designed to develop essential soft skills and support students in building practical abilities relevant to academic and career success in an international context. Participants were introduced to tools and strategies that promote effective communication, cultural understanding, and confidence in diverse environments.
The first activity, American Independence Day, took place on Wednesday, 2 July 2025. The session provided students with insights into American history and cultural traditions while encouraging cross-cultural exchange through interactive discussions and group activities.
The second workshop, Let’s Talk: The Art of Interviews & Conversation, was held on Thursday, 3 July 2025. This session focused on enhancing communication skills, including techniques for successful interviews and effective conversational strategies in both academic and professional settings.
Students who attended the workshops engaged enthusiastically in the activities and discussions, demonstrating a strong interest in developing essential soft skills. The program welcomed over 30 participants and created a dynamic and supportive environment that encouraged everyone to share experiences, exchange ideas, and build confidence for their future endeavors.
ISSC continues to offer activities that equip students with skills and perspectives to thrive in a changing world, reflecting Chiang Mai University’s commitment to inclusive learning. Upcoming events include Learning Styles & Study Skills on July 9, helping you discover your best learning methods; A Deep Dive into Fiction on July 16, where you’ll explore storytelling techniques; and Game Night: Apples to Apples on July 17, a fun chance to unwind with a classic party game.
