The Presidential Forum on “Navigating the Future of Higher Education” is of paramount significance as it brings together top leaders in academia to address critical issues facing the sector. In an era marked by rapid technological advancements, global challenges, and shifting educational paradigms, this event provides a unique opportunity for university Presidents, Rectors, Vice-Chancellors, and their equivalents to collaborate and exchange insights. This distinguished forum, held in celebration of Chiang Mai University’s 60th anniversary, will focus on four pivotal sub-themes:
Educational Transformation in the Digital Age
This segment explores the impact of digital technologies on teaching and learning. Discussions will delve into best practices for integrating online learning platforms, digital resources, and innovative teaching methodologies to enhance student engagement and accessibility.
Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ecosystems on Campus
Participants will examine strategies for fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in universities. This sub-theme highlights successful initiatives that encourage creative thinking, support startup incubation, and strengthen collaboration between academia and industry.
Bridging Knowledge and Action for the SDGs
This theme emphasizes the critical role universities play in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It focuses on interdisciplinary research, policy advocacy, and community engagement to address global challenges such as climate change, inequality, and sustainable development.
Future Skills and Lifelong Learning
The final sub-theme addresses the need for universities to prepare students with essential skills for the evolving job market. Emphasizing critical thinking, adaptability, and digital literacy, this discussion aims to develop strategies for integrating these skills into curricula and promoting lifelong learning. The forum offers a unique platform for university leaders to share insights, collaborate, and shape the future direction of higher education.

Chiang Mai University will provide participants with accommodation for two nights, local transportation, and meals for two representatives of each university.

Participants
Approximately 100 participants from 50 international universities, including Presidents, Rectors, Vice-Chancellors, and senior executives, will gather for the forum. Each university is invited to send a delegation consisting of the President and one additional representative, ensuring a diverse range of perspectives and expertise.
