CMU Hosts “CIAm 2026” to Further Elevate International Relations and Global Missions

Chiang Mai, July 20, 2026 – Chiang Mai University, through the International Relations Administration Center, successfully held its annual “Certified International Ambassador: CIAm 2026” program at Kantary Hills Hotel, Chiang Mai. This year’s gathering brought together university executives and international relations personnel to align strategic insights, share best practices, and collaboratively shape the university’s global direction while strengthening cooperative networks among various faculties and departments within the university.

The lecture sessions began with a keynote address by Asst. Prof. Tanyanuparb Anantana, Ph.D., Vice President of Chiang Mai University, on “CMU Internationalization: Progress and Achievement.” This session summarized CMU’s internationalization achievements and presented the University’s strategic directions, as well as opportunities and new support mechanisms available to faculties and departments. Participants also gained insights into CMU’s progress, future goals, international student recruitment, and the expansion of global partnerships.

Additionally, Asst. Prof. Worakanya Buranaphatthana, D.D.S., Ph.D., Assistant to the President, delivered a presentation entitled “From Strategy to Action: Driving CMU Internationalization Together.” She outlined the University’s internationalization action plans and implementation framework while facilitating an open forum for participants to exchange ideas and provide feedback. The session encouraged collaborative planning among faculties and departments to develop practical initiatives that will further advance CMU’s internationalization goals.

The program concluded with a special lecture by Asst. Prof. Orsolya Endrody, Ph.D., from the Institute of Intercultural Psychology and Education, Faculty of Education and Psychology, Eotvos Lorand University (ELTE), Hungary, entitled “Bridging Horizons: The ELTE & CMU Global Educational Synergy.” She shared the development of the long-standing collaboration between ELTE and Chiang Mai University, from its early stages to the expansion of international academic partnerships and collaborative initiatives. This session allowed participants to analyze key success factors and challenges from the case study, offering concrete ideas for faculties to expand their own international academic collaborations and sustainable activities.
