SUMMARY:Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program (FLTA)
DESCRIPTION:ABOUT THE PROGRAM\nFLTA Program provides an opportunity for young Thai teachers of English to refine their teaching skills\, increase their English language proficiency while extend their knowledge of the cultures and customs of the United States while strengthening the instructions of the Thai language at U.S. higher education institutions for nine months. \nFLTA Program has a tremendous multiplier effect in the U.S. and in the home countries of the FLTA fellows. U.S. universities benefit from the presence of a native foreign language speaker on their campuses. FLTA fellows may teach up to two classes and are required to enroll in at least two courses per semester\, one of which must be in U.S. studies. The remaining coursework must relate to their careers in English language teaching. FLTA fellows will also be expected to facilitate cultural events\, language clubs and language tables. \nSelection will be based on the candidates’ leadership skills\, ability to motivate students to learn\, and interest in teaching their native language and culture to U.S. students. Ideal candidates for the FLTA Program have a desire to meet people and become a part of their host community by participating in community events and campus activities. FLTA fellows should also be creative and self-reliant team players\, who are able to maintain excellent relationships with faculty\, staff and students. FLTA Program is demand-driven and final selection is dependent on the ability to match the requests of U.S. host institutions with the language skills of the applicant pool. \nAll FLTA fellows receive a monthly stipend\, health insurance and travel support. SUMMARY:Call for Applications: 2025-2026 Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program
DESCRIPTION:2025-2026 Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program (HHH) \nThe Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program is a United States Government funded program\, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State\, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). At ECA\, the Humphrey Program is coordinated by the Humphrey Fellowships and Institutional Linkages Branch (ECA/A/S/U) of the Office of Global Educational Programs. It is administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE) under a cooperative agreement with ECA. \nUnlike the traditional Fulbright and most other foreign scholarship programs\, the Humphrey Fellowship is a one-year\, mid-career\, non-degree program for professionals interested in strengthening leadership skills\, as well as learning more about their professional fields of study. The Humphrey Program also emphasizes the mutual exchange of knowledge and understanding about issues of common concern to the U.S. and Fellows’ home countries. \nDuring the academic year\, Fellows are placed at university campuses where they pursue individual program goals and work closely with their Humphrey colleagues in workshops and seminars. Fellows are also expected\, however\, to engage in professional development activities outside of their university campus\, attending conferences and seminars\, and completing a six-week professional affiliation requirement. \nThe Humphrey Program also differs in that Fellows are grouped together by professional fields at the various universities.
